Whetstone is a Bible study application for men, provided by DiligenceIQ ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form). Account creation is optional — the app can be used in guest mode without an account, with data stored only on your device.
Content you create: Journal entries, bookmarks, and reading progress you generate while using the app. Journal entries may contain personal, reflective, and sensitive content by their nature. This content is yours — we do not read, review, or use it to train any AI model.
Usage data: General app usage patterns (which screens are used, general engagement metrics) collected through Firebase/Google Analytics, to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. This is aggregated and not tied to the content of your journal entries.
Crash and error data: Technical diagnostic information collected through Sentry when the app encounters an error, to help us fix bugs. This may include device type, OS version, and the state of the app at the time of the error — it does not include your journal content.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your journal content to train AI models. We do not share your personal content with advertisers.

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections and Supabase's row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible to you. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Whetstone is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or via email if you have an account.
